(1) The outer surface of the ignition coil should be kept clean. The interior should be kept dry to maintain its good insulation performance.

(2) The connection between the ignition coil high-voltage terminal and the high-voltage wire should be firm and reliable. If the connection is loose, it is easy to cause discharge and arcing, which can damage the connection area.

(3) The connection between the primary winding of the ignition coil and the external circuit should be firm and reliable. In battery ignition systems, there are usually polarity specifications for the connection of the low-voltage terminal to the external circuit, meaning that the positive low-voltage terminal should be directly or indirectly connected to the positive terminal of the battery, and the negative low-voltage terminal should be connected to the negative terminal of the battery.

(4) One end of the secondary winding of the ignition coil is connected to the spark plug through the high-voltage wire and the spark plug cap. During use, care should be taken to prevent the high-voltage wire and spark plug cap from coming loose. When the high-voltage wire or spark plug cap falls off, the high voltage generated by the secondary winding can rise to the limit determined by its working capacity due to an open circuit, which can easily lead to breakdown and damage of the secondary winding.
